Yapısı: Özne +had+Verb3
Olumlu Cümle: I (you, he, she, it, we, they) had already got
home before it began to rain.
Olumsuz Cümle: I (you, he, she, it, we, they) hadn't already got home before it began to rain.
Soru Cümlesi: Had I (you, he, she, it, we, they) already got home before it began to rain?
The Past Perfect Tense cümlelerinde genellikle before, after, by, by the time gibi kelimeler kullanılır.
Örnekler:
- When Margaret had finished her homework, she turned on the radio.
(Margaret ev ödevini bitirdikten sonra radyoyu açtı.)
- Ann and Ellen had decorated the room bye the time the children arrived.
(Çocuklar gelene kadar Ann ve Ellen odayı süslemişlerdi.)
